STEP 5 - Downloading the Software to Each Handset

Please follow the step-by-step process when installing AirMobility to your handset. Support is available for any step shown here by contact Michael Lane as needed.

1.  Pre-populating the My Info Field

The “My Info” field must be populated on the Motorola handset prior to downloading the application to the handset. If you have regular phone service on your handset, the fastest way to do this is to simply call the phone itself. This will auto-populate the “My Info” field automatically. If your phone is being used in “radio only” mode or without cell service, follow these steps to enter the number into the “My Info” field manually:

Step 1 - Press the “Menu” key on the key pad
Step 2 - Scroll to “My Info” and press the “OK” key
Step 3 – If the phone number appears under “Line 1” the phone is properly programmed.  Press the red hang up key to return to the main screen
Step 4 – If the phone number does not appear under “Line 1” press the soft key under “Edit”
Step 5 – Scroll to Line 1 and press the “OK” key
Step 6 – Manually type in the phone number for the phone using the numeric key pad and press the “OK” key when completed
Step 6 – Press the red hang up key to return to the main screen
Step 7 – Power cycle the phone
Step 8 – Follow Steps 1 and 2 to ensure the phone number has been programmed into the “My Info” screen

2.  Downloading the AirMobility Application

1.  Press the Menu key
2.  Scroll to “Java Apps” and press OK
3.  Scroll to “Download Apps” and press OK
4.  Press “Install” if not installed or OK if installed to run
5.  Phone will connect to Download Apps server
6.  Press “Skip” if welcome screen appears
7.  From the main Download Apps menu scroll to “New Purchases” and press OK
8.  Highlight the AirMobility App and select “Get”
9.  Select “Exit” when app has downloaded
10.  Highlight app and select “Install” or select “Install” if phone prompts for installation automatically

3.  Programming the right Soft Key with AirMobility

1.  Press the Menu key
2.  Scroll to "Settings" and press OK
3.  Scroll to "Personalize" and press OK
4.  Scroll to "Right Soft Key" and press OK
6.  Scroll to "AirMobility" and press OK
7.  Press Back

Press the red hang up key to return to the main menu

4.  To enable auto-start of AirMobility when phone turns on

1.  Press the Menu key
2.  Scroll to "Settings" and press OK
3.  Scroll to 'Personalize" and press OK
4.  Scroll to "Power Up" and press OK
5.  Press OK
6.  Scroll to "AirMobility" and press OK
7.  Press Back

Press the red hang up key to return to the main menu

5.  Arranging the main menu to access messages – voicemail, text, etc

1.  Press the Menu key
2.  Scroll to "Settings" and press OK
3.  Scroll to "Personalize" and press OK
4.  Scroll to "Menu Options" and press OK
5.  Press OK at "Reorder Menu"
6.  Scroll to "Messages" and press Grab
7.  Scroll to the top of the list and press Insert
8.  Press Done
